Vitamin C

These free radicals are believed to lead to progression of eye health problems such as age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts. The antioxidants provided by vitamin C fight these free radicals so they’re unable to damage the eye.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

These necessary fatty acids are highly concentrated in our retina, and they’re extremely important in maintaining healthy vision. And, like Vitamin A, they are helpful in preventing eye dryness. Omega-3 Fatty Acids help us to generate the healthy tear film that protects our eyes. These Omega-3 fatty acids are mainly found in fish oil, but it can also be extracted from microalgae found in the ocean.

Carotenoids

These are actually substances found in pigments in certain vegetables, as well as eggs and grass-fed beef. You could say that these are one of your eyes’ best friends. Lutein and zeaxanthin are two specific carotenoids that are crucial for eye health because they protect against oxidative stress and eye strain due to exposure to sunlight. Another one, beta-carotene is an early formation of Vitamin A. When we eat this carotenoid, our body converts it to Vitamin A.
